Monday March 19th 2018 – Omey Féichín & Cleggan Area
Meeting at 10am at Clifden Square, return by 5pm, €30pp

Omey, a tidal island accessible on foot, is a spiritual place of rock and sand with hidden monastic sites, associated with St. Brendan and St. Féichín and a lost 18th century village. Its many archaeological sites are evidence of a once thriving community
On the Aughrus Peninsula opposite we will see an ancient Lake Dwelling, a 5000 year old Megalithic Tombs and the picturesque coastal village of Cleggan once a thriving smuggling harbour.
